Been Busy

So for one of my subjects here at CDA I need to redesign Sherlock Holmes and we have allot of freedom to set it where we want in terms of location, time period and theme.

My concept is that "Sherlock Holmes" is a retired- super-spy who lives in an unassuming nursing home.

He is still the nations savior and uses his keen intelligence, logical thinking and detective skills to solve cases. His nursing home is built above an old World War 2 bunker and that is where Sherlock has his secret archives and collection from a lifetime of adventure.

Here are some sketches for the reveal of Holmes underground lair in order:

And here is a character Sketch of Holmes and Watson:

Influence Map

For homework in one of my subjects we had to compile our influences in an "influence map"

the bigger the influence the more area it takes up on the image.

So if you are interested in who influenced me here it is:

Gotye and Kimbra

Big suprise! The song "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye won the Triple J hottest 100 last week. It really is a great song and has been stuck in my head for a good 6 months.

I had fun doing this.

The childrens book thing was a last minute addition taking inspiration from Doug Holgate and Josh Cooley.

Oh and if you don't know the song or the film clip check it out:

Dredd

I was able to choose the topic for last weeks drawing challenge at Ozcomics. Judge Dredd was my favorite comic growing up so it wasn't hard to pick him to draw.

Here is my entry:

Gork

Inspired by a demo by Terry Lane @ CDW Melbourne.

Digital Life Drawing
